It does so within the comprehensive worldview of contemporary cosmology and science and examines emerging symbols within this worldview as evocative and efficacious concepts in the transformational process of spiritual direction. The survey results indicate the value of and the openness to use of these symbols by spiritual directors and goes on to propose a method for an evolutionary and cosmological spiritual direction praxis. The model being used for an evolving process of spiritual transformation is gleaned from the work of Jesuit paleontologist and pioneer in evolutionary thought, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin on the \u201Claw of attraction\u201D as the process and trajectory of evolution.
