The reason being: many agents act unethically, in order to retain clients and advance their own personal financial position. The issue is that America\u2019s amateur athletes are essentially harmed by some agents, as a result of the agent\u2019s actions, and the nonuniform set of standards currently in place do not do enough to prevent future violations. The current system of laws and standards needs modification if America\u2019s citizens want to protect the nation\u2019s amateur and professional athletes, who are held in high regard by a substantial number of U.S. citizens. Sports represent a significant part of society. This thesis delves into the role of sports in society, the profession of agency, the issues with the laws and regulations, and an explanation of a possible solution. The paper advocates for more uniform regulation of sports agents.
