Nurses (N = 100), age 23-71, were assessed on coping, anxiety, depression, and burnout. The study was conducted in local hospitals in South Florida. Results indicated that problem-focused coping is associated with depression and anxiety and with moderate to high levels of burnout. As a contrast, the emotion-focused coping was not significantly associated with depression or anxiety but was associated with moderate and severe burnout. Results indicated that burnout was strongly associated with anxiety and depression.
