The Scale of Teachers\u0027 Attitudes toward Inclusive Classrooms (STATIC), along with an adapted background instrument initially developed by H. Keith Cochran (1999) were administered to 642 teachers in the six islands. Overall attitude was determined by the total score on the STATIC. This instrument is made up of twenty items with values ranging from zero to five. The highest possible score on the STATIC is one hundred. Results showed that on average, teachers in the islands were moderately positive about inclusion. However, there were differences in the attitudes of teachers across the islands. Teachers in the Cayman Islands, Barbados and St. Lucia had more positive attitudes than their counterparts in St. Vincent and Jamaica. Grenada fell in between the high and low scores. Other results revealed that those teachers who were trained in special education demonstrated more positive attitudes toward inclusion than those without training.
