General Note:
At this event, the college conferred its first honorary degree of Doctor of Laws upon Fr. Barry, parish priest in Ireland. The Laudare Medal was on the same occasion awarded for the first time to Mr. Barry, Chicago architect, and in absentia to Mr. John G. Thompson, Miami attorney.
