520 3    |a Recent NCAA data (2018) showed the number of international student-athletes (ISAs) participating in NCAA sports is continually increasing. Literature indicates that ISAs face unique challenges when arriving on campus. However, most of the research has been conducted at the NCAA Division I level only. This study investigated the experiences of ISAs at the NCAA Division II and III level and how these experiences relate to their overall psychological well-being. A total of 118 current ISAs (32.2% male; Mage =20.53, SDage =1.67), from 42 countries representing 16 sports participated in this study. The aim of the study was to shed light onto the following questions: (a) What transitional issues do ISAs face when entering NCAA Division II/III institutions in the U.S? (b) What support services do ISAs currently utilize to assist with the issues experienced during the transition to NCAA Division II/III institutions? And (c) what support services do ISAs wish were offered on campus to better assist them with the issues experienced during their transition to NCAA Division II/III institutions? Results indicated that ISAs were not satisfied with campus-area food selection, were concerned about their parent’s financial situation, felt more mature that their classmates and found it difficult to travel home to see family. Support services desired by ISAs include transportation to/from airport around holidays, authentic dining options/ways to find authentic food, as well as a sport psychology professional. Furthermore, there were significant relationships between ISAs transitioning experiences and facets of psychological well-being. Implications how to better help ISAs adjust to their new environment are provided, as well as a need to find ways to offer desired support services to this under represented population.
