520 3    |a The purpose of this study is to observe the characteristics that exist in an effective inclusive education model. A partially covert qualitative ethnography was conducted. Observations and informal dialogue in a fourth-grade classroom provided the data, which were collected, recorded, and transcribed daily using an observation protocol. A narrative summary of informal dialogue was also compiled. Data analysis included a review of observations and dialogue to find recurring themes in the data. Results supported that elements found in the literature were present in the classroom. Findings define characteristics of and support the feasibility of an effective inclusive model. It is suggested that the model should continue to be given serious consideration and be supported by efforts devoted to educational reform.
